I want to ask a question about the SAT test – when should I take the test so that I don’t miss a university application deadline? Like, when do most universities close applications?

Most students attend university or college in the Fall, so their applications are due in early March and can be due as late as early April. It is important to check out your school of choice to find the specific date.

You should therefore take your SAT test before March in order to get the marks back in time to include on your application. According to the lesson on SAT Test Dates and Registration Deadlines, it is the safest bet to write your test on any of the following dates: October 4, November 1, December 6, January 24 and depending on the specific deadline, March 14.

This would allow for sufficient time for your marks to come back.

I need to brush up my English quickly….

Many international students will find that they’re not as confident in their language abilities as they’d like. Not to worry! Why not take a look at our ESL Community to read up on some resources and take some tests or trivia to help you improve!

I would like to know what the process is to sit in a SAT entrance exam? Please give me a details of application form, fees & eligibility, age limit . I am a 12th passed student . My stream was science . So am I eligible for the SAT entrance?

The process to sit for an SAT exam is to first register to be tested within your city and country. Then you will go to the testing center on the day and sit to write the exam. Check here to learn more about the SAT test itself. As for actually registering, you can learn how in our SAT Registration lesson. Because you’ve passed your 12th grade, you are eligible to write the SAT. Just view the links to get more information on how to register and then write them!

Some books we’re familiar with are The Official SAT Study Guide by the CollegeBoard and Cracking the SAT from the Princeton Review. We found them highly useful. There’s also a lot of online material, but those would be less reliable (except for LearnHub, of course!). You can search for other resources as well, we find that the official ones are most helpful.

Going through the books and the LearnHub resources should be enough, in my opinion, and the LearnHub staff is here to help out if you have any questions. Of course, if you feel you learn better in a classroom environment, you can try that too. The books include real test examples and we’ve got all the tips and info you’ll need right here. And from what I’ve heard, studying for 4 months should be enough, especially since you can retake the SAT if anything happens on the day of the test.

Hey shreea.
This lesson walks you through finding test centres and registering for the SAT. There are over 20 centres in India available for the September seating of the SAT, and they’re located at pretty much all major cities. You can go to the CollegeBoard website, select an appropriate date, and search India to find which test centre is closest to you.

Hi Harpreet,

Take a look at LearnHub’s School Finder tool. It will give you a list of colleges that you can pick from.

Also, you can browse through the list of Schools at LearnHub’s School Directory

I hope this helps!
